This is more than a job to me

On the day itself, you get someone who shows up the way a good guest does—present, relaxed, and genuinely happy to be there.

Not hovering. Not pulling you away from a real moment to manufacture a better one. By mid-morning, most couples forget I’m working. That’s not an accident. It’s the whole point.

The photos that come back aren’t a highlight reel of your best lighting. They’re a gallery that tells the story of your day the way you actually lived it. From the quiet moments before everything started to the part of the reception where everyone just let go. The gallery is organized to let you relive the day, not just display it.

And none of that works if the day is chaos. Which is why the planning starts long before you get there.

“It was one of the best experiences of our lives, and we’re so glad we get to have these photos forever to cherish.”

— Cheyanne & Sam

Hey, I’m Mike

Ex-musician, artist by nature, photographer by trade.

I’m the person couples trust to show up for one of the most meaningful days of their lives.
I’ve traveled across 30+ states and several countries so far, always chasing places that spark curiosity. To me, adventure doesn’t always mean jumping out of planes (although I’ve done that too). Sometimes it just means saying yes to something new.

  • 5 countries. 35 states. And counting.
  • 6+ years of showing up for real wedding days
  • 100+ couples supported from inquiry to final gallery
  • 7x published (still surreal, honestly)

I’m not your hype girl. I’m invisible either.

Just someone you can genuinely be yourself around.
That mindset carries into the way I approach weddings.
I show up the same way I would for a close friend—present, easy to be around, and paying attention to what actually matters.
Which is probably why helping couples design a day that’s fully theirs—and then showing up to document it honestly—is the work I love most.

Planning’s part of the job, not just a bonus.

Most couples have never planned a wedding before. You shouldn’t have to figure it out alone and when you book, you won’t have to. Here’s what’s waiting for you before your day even starts:

A 90-page VIP planning guide

A 90-page VIP planning guide arrives right after you book, so you have something to actually dig into. Not a to-do list, but a real starting point for figuring out what you want your day to look like.

a detailed questionnaire

Before we get into logistics, a detailed questionnaire helps me get under the skin of who you are as a couple—your vision, your priorities, and what would make the day feel completely yours. No assumptions and NO copy-paste.

a detailed timeline

Around six months out, we’ll sit down together and build a detailed timeline. One that accounts for your other vendors, your family photo list, and enough breathing room so the day doesn’t feel rushed.

permit or vendor research

Any permit or vendor research that needs doing gets handled before it becomes your problem, so nothing’s falling through the cracks in the final stretch.

In the weeks before the day, I’ll check in to confirm everything’s in place and you know exactly what to expect—no crossed fingers or hoping for the best.

Every wedding is its own kind of day

Here’s what it looks like when a wedding is photographed, not directed.

Engagement Sessions

from $500
Not just photos for your save-the-dates.

An engagement session is a practice run—a chance to get comfortable with me, figure out how you move together in front of a camera, and make sure we actually know each other before the day itself.

Up to two hours, three locations, and one less thing to worry about on your wedding day. Some of the above collections do already include a complimentary engagement session, but if you’d like to bundle it with your wedding package, let me know.

Every booking starts with a conversation

Planning something more intimate?

Elopements are a different kind of day and a different kind of conversation. With fewer people and less structure, you get more freedom to shape the day around what feels right to you—whether that’s adventure, simplicity, or just being fully present together.

FAQ

Ask good questions and I’ll give you honest answers

It’s available, but honestly? A full day is where the good stuff happens. The quiet moments in the morning, the excitement of getting ready, the last dance when half the guests have gone home—that’s the story. Half-day coverage means choosing which half to skip, and most couples are glad they didn’t.

If you want the adventure without the paperwork stress, some couples choose to legally marry at home and treat the elopement as their intentional ceremony. Both are valid.

For local and regional weddings, a second shooter is included. Two perspectives on the day means nothing gets missed. For destination weddings it’s available as an add-on. It’s worth talking through on the consultation call.

It’s actually the most common thing couples say before their wedding (and the least true thing by the end of it). The whole approach is built around you forgetting the camera is there. No posing that doesn’t feel natural, no direction that makes you feel like you’re performing. Most couples are surprised by how quickly that nervousness disappears.

As early as you can. Not because dates fill up fast (though they do), but because the earlier you book, the more runway there is for the planning process to actually work for you. The timeline building, vendor coordination, and pre-day calls are all more valuable the more time you have.

Simply put, it’s geography. Local is within about two hours, regional covers a wider stretch of the Midwest, and destination covers anywhere beyond that, domestically or internationally. The experience and the approach are the same regardless of where the day is happening.

Yes, and it’s definitely worth doing. An engagement session is essentially a practice run where you get comfortable together in front of the camera before the day that actually counts. A lot of couples find it changes how relaxed they feel when it matters most. Sessions start from $500 and can be bundled with any package.

Let’s figure your day out, together

We’ll talk through what you’re imagining, what you’re unsure about, and what would make this feel fully like you.
